08/13/10 - It is Friday morning at 5:30am and ran 8 miles in one hour and eight minutes. With hot and muggy weather it is either out early or late (after 8pm) but nothing during the day. Feeling pretty good. |

08/14/10 - Family car trip to Maine. Great weather for running - cool mornings, daily highs in the 70's. First stop in Wells, a beach town. Ran 12 miles on Saturday morning and then five in a light rain on Monday. Drove north to Camden, a pretty mid-coast harbor for many of the old schooners that travel the coast and ran 8 miles in a big loop around town on Tuesday morning. Then drove up to Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor) on Wednesday and did two five mile runs in the park on Wednesday and Friday. This was a beautiful setting for a run; rocks, ocean and mountains! Returned home Saturday in time for the most important run in training, the 20 miler. |

09/5/10 -This is the big week! Mileage has been scaled down dramatically. I ran 8 yesterday and am schedule to do only three Monday and four Tuesday. That will complete training. Then Saturday, I will travel to Rochester with the race starting at 7am on Sunday. The cooler weather has been great to run in after all the heat and humidity this summer. Thanks to all who have donated so far! |
